The Pink Panthers, an Illinois Corporation, was founded by Joyce Dickerson in September, 2004. In the beginning the team consisted of 2 determined and committed parents and 20 enthusiastic jumpers grades 3 thru 9. Shortly thereafter, The Markham Park District graciously donated space for practices and became the team’s first sponsor.
Soon, the tasks of organizing squads, soliciting donations, training coaches and establishing an operating budget began.
During this exciting time, something extraordinary occurred. The Pink Panthers won 1st and 2nd place in a number of grade level categories at its first competitive event held in Broadview, IL. As a result, the Pink Panthers began receiving requests for exhibition performances across the country. The number of awards and jumpers continued to grow.
Now the team has over 55 jumpers, 9 coaches and continues to place 1st in major competitions nationwide. As of July 2008, We are proud to call Hazel Crest Park District our new home.
These and future achievements can only be attributed to the dedication and perseverance of our jumpers, parents, volunteer coaches and sponsors. Without them, none of this would be possible.
